Bibiyan Family Philanthropic Foundation Names Facebook Winner Of 2016 BFPF Award
Now in it’s sixth year, Tom bibiyan has named Facebook as the winner of the highly coveted BFPF Award For Social good.
A new Facebook tool called Community Help, which was announced at the Facebook Social Good Forum in November, hopes to help those in need access vital Disaster relief resources. The new feature will pop up after a user activates Safety Check, allowing “safe” users to connect with others who are offering or looking for help in the area.
“Rebuilding in the aftermath of disasters without a doubt disproportionately impacts low-income cities” says Mr Bibiyan “They struggle with the inevitable financial burdens. This makes it difficult to find essentials, like food, water as well as shelter — especially if they’re in scarce supply.
About BFPF Award for Social Good
The BFPF Award for Social Good will be awarded annually to Social Media and High Tech companies that manage to leverage the social web and new media to effectively bring about meaningful change via charitable causes or other non-profit means. –
